Ok…I have had enough of battling my medicine cabinet. Once again, as I opened up my medicine cabinet (half-asleep mind you) an avalanche of jams n jellies came tumbling down completely startling me. Yup…that’ll wake you up quick….might as well skip the cup of java. Anyhoos… I don’t know about you but I realized that this has been an on-going battle….constantly adjusting shelves, angling the items so that when I grab them I won’t accidentally knock something else off, and dealing with slick surfaces. No matter how cheap or how nice of a place I’ve lived in there’s one thing I just can’t escape from…mediocre medicine cabinets. Well, enough is enough and I decided that instead of “settling” with my cabinet I was going to “simplifize” my life, take back my medicine cabinet, and make it work for me.
All it took was a few magnetic boxes I found at IKEA (of course you may use other magnetic boxes as long as they are not too thick. IKEA just happens to be where I found some). So, instead of placing items on the shelves, I decided to hang them on the inside of the door. GENIUS!!! And the beauty of it all, is that I can move the boxes around, take them down as needed, and take them with me when I move… to use on yet another mediocre-medicine cabinet. No more shelves, no more slick surfaces, no more falling jams n jellies.
Ahhh…my life just got more “simplifized.”
