OK…here’s my first guest post…thought it would be fitting for it to be from my husband since he’s the “tech guy” behind Get Simplifized! and can be found (among other places) at dahava.tumblr.com. Trust me folks, this fits squarely into my “simple tech” category because it’s so easy I think anyone can use this stuff. Check back here for videos on these programs, coming soon!
“Alright folks, many of you probably already use these but I just wanted to tout them once more. Evernote is singularly the most life-changing software I’ve used for productivity and convenience. Who needs brain capacity anymore? I’ve used Evernote to compensate for the brain cell loss I’ve caused by drinking so much Corona over the years. Honestly, the free account is great but I had to go premium because I enjoy using it THAT MUCH. Paired with my SnapScan S300M for Mac, I’ve digitized nearly everything I own. My wife said I got a little carried away when I scanned the whole phonebook (really, who uses those anyway)?”
“I’m relatively new to Dropbox, but the utility is fantastic for cloud file sharing. While Google Docs is my first choice for cloud storage, Dropbox is tailor made for easy sharing.”
“Both have free versions…you can download them at http://www.evernote.com/ andhttps://www.dropbox.com/ Enjoy!!! ”

Hey Vanessa! I found your blog link from Digitized. Love ur blog posts. I am a mess when it comes to organizing. Esp the morning and the evening(after coming back from school) routine and the disorganized life gets me stressed. I am an Architecture major. So already school is stressful and my habits adds to the agony.
I’ve been using Evernote since 4 months now and I am absolutely impressed, heavily dependent on cloud storage. Looking forward to read ur posts on my Google Reader.
Welcome and thanks for checking out Get Simplifized! So…you’re an Architecture major, huh. I’m so envious! My husband and I absolutely love contemporary, modern and green design. My husband’s actually pursuing LEED certification and ironically enough, our largest folder in Evernote is dedicated solely to storing articles, pictures and other info on design for our dream home. You mentioned that your mornings and evenings are pretty stressful. That’s completely understandable especially when pursuing a demanding degree. I’ve got some good news for you…although habits are tough to break they can be broken with a little support and effort. I already have a few posts on how to manage stress and how to establish a nightly clutter-control routine. I’m also planning on doing a series on time management that I hope will provide you and my other readers some simple tips on how to organize your time. Additionally, I’m going to expound on Evernote as well as Scan Snap…a tech tool we use to scan pretty much everything…bills, photos, receipts, etc. It has totally cut down on our clutter. BTW…if there is a particular topic you’re interested in along the lines of simplifying and organizing your life, I’d be happty to consider it and address it for a future post. Thanks again for your comment…and good luck on that degree…would love to get updates on it!
