As if there weren’t enough uses for the ever-so-popular and wonderful binder clips…I’ve discovered another way to use them. I got this fabulous tip from another colleague, Lorie Morrero of Clutter Diet. It’s simple, yet brilliant. Here’s how I used it in my son’s closet on his hanging shelves:
Each shelf is labeled by type of clothing
You can see the binder clips labeled and attached to the shelves

Labeling my son’s shelves made it so much easier for him to know where to put his clothes after they’ve been laundered. What’s great about these clips is that you can label them and use them on things like thin wood shelves in your clothes closets or on pantry shelves. You can also use them to keep different types of looses files and paper supplies together.
And did you notice that his clothes are rolled up? That’s a BONUS TIP: rolling your clothes is an easy alternative to folding them. It is especially nice in shelves like these, making it easier to pull out what you need without messing up the rest of the stack.
So what do you think? Are you thinking of ways that you could use labeled binder clips too? Let me know….would love to hear your ideas!

Hi Vanessa!
I love binder clips! You might say I’m a wee bit obsessed with them. I always have a stash of all sizes in the car, at work, and at home.
I started using them at work (for their intended use) when I first spied them at Staples a few years ago. Side note: am I the only person obsessed with office supply stores?! In the beginning, I was asked several times where I had gotten them or heard comments about how handy they are! Now, of course, they are everywhere!
I use mine to: keep chip bags closed; hold photos, etc. that go on a bulletin board (I don’t want holes in the pics, of course); organize coupons (i.e. each store’s coupons/ads go in an individual clip; as clothespins when none are handy; to keep the end of my toothpaste tube rolled up; organizing cords (I don’t pinch the cord, but wind it and hold it together in the empty space behind the “pinch” part); clip notes/reminders onto my son’s backpack; as a money clip (when I don’t want to take my purse); group baggies of beads together by color, style or??? and hang them on a pegboard by the loop on the clip (I love to make beaded jewelry); clip my scarves together and put the loop on the clip on a hook in my closet. These all require different sized clips depending on each person’s own needs.
I’m sure I’ll come up with more uses as needs arise. They are sooo handy! Thanks for sharing ways to use them I hadn’t thought of! Between this idea and those you shared in “30+ Uses For Binder Clips…They’re Not Just For The Office Anymore”, I’ve gotten tons of new ideas and I believe these little guys are one of the best office supply gadgets invented in recent years!
