Going Commando With Command Hooks

by Vanessa Hayes

in Around the House,Organizing

I’ve known about 3M Command hooks for quite some time but never really felt I needed them.  I guess I could never get past the commercials thinking they were only good for hanging stockings.  Well, I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to appreciate their many uses, but I’ve just recently gone “commando” with these Command hooks!  These things are great!  I like that they are relatively inexpensive, they come in different colors, sizes and styles and I can remove them without damaging my doors or walls. They even have water resistant hooks to hang in the shower.  How clever is that?  I think I’ve just added a new weapon in my professional organizer’s toolkit!  Here are a few ways I’ve used them around the house:

Inside of my little girl's closet to hang up tutus, purses and jump rope. (Yes, I know the hooks aren't even...was trying to be a good mommy and let my daughter hang them up ;o)

Inside a kitchen cabinet door to hang large pot holders.

Again, inside of a kitchen cabinet to hang dishtowels. It's so nice to just put it on this hook without having to fold it and hang it over the stove or dishwasher handles.

Put two brushed nickel colored hooks low on our hall tree for my daughter to access her school bag and jackets.

Now we all have a place to hang our things.

My daughter loves it...and I do too!!!

I’m still imagining the possibilities for these little gadgets. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?  Can’t wait to hear them!
