Collapsible Storage Crates…Another One Of My Favorite Gadgets

I first saw one these collapsible crates online and they were a bit expensive.  A few months later my husband and I saw them at IKEA for about $5 a piece, so we snagged up four of them!  I’ve since seen them in other home and office supply stores.  I’m totally digging these crates.  They are convenient and space-savers!  Here’s a video I took of how they work:

I use these crates practically every day, working with clients and carting supplies and other things around my house. Here are a couple of pictures of how I’ve used them:

On an organizing job to sort paper piles

Loading groceries...from bulk food stores like Sam's, Costco and BJ's

You can also use them to:

- Transport food to a picnic or potluck
- For organizing your own space in your home or office
- To separate office files and paperwork
- In the car to carry sports equipment or snacks and drinks to your kids’ games

Like I said, these crates are great…and just another way to help “simplifize” your life.

Love these! I think the best part is that when you’re not using them, you can collapse them and put them away. Sometimes those extra storage bins and crates that we use to keep us organized actually wind up piling up and causing more clutter! :} With these, you can so easily store them away neatly.

(And I love how you couldn’t wait to get them home before making your video! :) hehe.)

Isn’t that the truth! Wasn’t sure how much I’d use these crates, but I use them everyday. BTW…just worked with a client who’s master closet was done by California Closets….gorgeous! Amazed at the craftsmanship and quality.

Hey Vanessa,
These crates are AWESOME. Wanted to leave the house and go to IKEA last week right after I saw your video (at 10 at night). Anyway, finally got to IKEA today, my sole purpose was to get some of these crates. Unfortunately the IKEA in Tampa did not have them and I just went on the website and cannot find them either. Thinking maybe I’m searching for the wrong thing, “collapsible storage crates”, anyway was hoping maybe you had a product number or something to help me search for them. I REALLY want these crates! Any help you can provide will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
C
