I love the internet! Who needs a dictionary, encyclopedia, yellow book or cookbook anymore? It’s one HUGE resource, but I have to admit…sometimes I get really, really frustrated when I’m looking for something in particular but I can’t seem to find it. I try typing in different words and phrases but end up scrolling through page after page of search results, clicking each one, only to find out that it wasn’t what I was looking for. Before I know it, I’ve spent an hour of searching with no success. It’s like, “What the heck am I doing wrong? Can’t the internet read my mind and know exactly what I want?” Sheeesh!
Well, there is a tool in Google Search called the “wonder wheel” that makes a pretty good guess at what you’re looking for to help you with your search. It looks at what other people have searched for that is similar to your topic. So when you type in your topic and click on the wonder wheel, it then gives you a variety of other topics that may be of interest to you. Each time you click on a new topic, it then gives you a new list of search results.
Of course, my explanation isn’t doing the wonder wheel tool any justice. Check out the video…it does a much better job of showing you just how cool this tool really is!
So, what do you think? Will this help simplifize your internet searches? I hope it does. I would love to hear from you. Drop a line in the comments block or send me an email at [email protected]. Thanks!
